Although football is typically fun and games, the danger is very real. Sometimes, like on Sunday in Houston, we are reminded of how much risk is involved in the contact sport.

The Dolphins wide receiver took a big hit from the Texans safety, Calen Bullock15 yards were flagged for unnecessary roughness.

Medical personnel removed DuBose’s jersey and face mask while hooking him up to an oxygen mask in a terrifying situation in Houston.

Head coach Mike McDaniel told reporters after the game that the team received positive feedback from initial testing at DuBose. The recipient will remain in Houston overnight.

Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa took some of the blame for the situation, telling reporters that his ball placement could have been better.

DuBose was ruled out with a head injury and taken to a local hospital for evaluation, according to the dolphins. He is in stable condition.

DuBose was taken off the field on a stretcher after a delay that lasted 12 minutes.

The receiver showed the fencing reaction that has unfortunately become commonplace for Dolphins fans following Tagovailoa’s concussion history.

Bullock wasn’t kicked out, but it comes with interesting timing. The Texans, fresh off a bye week, were mired in some controversy courtesy of Azeez Al-Shaairwas suspended three games for a dirty hit on the Jaguars’ quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

Houston has been on the defensive ever since as their team has come under fire for a perceived dirty style of play. That chatter is likely to get even louder in the wake of this latest incident.

DuBose hasn’t been a major factor on offense in his sophomore season after being on IR since Week 2 with a shoulder injury. He had just one catch this season on three targets before tallying a catch Sunday for negative two yards.
