Paramount+ announced last week the release date for Season 2 of “Yellowstone” prequel “1923” and the season premiere is only months away.

Co-created by Taylor Sheridan, “1923” follows the events of the limited series “1883” (released in 2021). The “1923” prequel “introduces a new generation of Duttons led by patriarch Jacob and matriarch Cara,” played by Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, respectively, according to Paramount+.

Some scenes may be familiar to Texans, as Sheridan filmed several locations in Central Texas, including Austin, Bartlett and Lockhart, which were transformed to resemble 1920s Fort Worth.

‘1923’ Season 2 Release Date

The second season of “1923” will premiere Sunday, Feb. 23, on Paramount+, the network said in a press release Thursday.

Will there be a season 3 of ‘1923’?

According to Brandon Sklenar, who plays Spencer Dutton in “1923“, the series is scheduled to end with season 2.

In an interview with The Hollywood ReporterSklenar stated that the show would have a final ending at the end of its second season. This is consistent with previous comments from the creators, who designed the show as a two-season arc to tell the story of the Dutton family’s early history.
