Adam Sandler appears as a surgical patient and splashes blood everywhere in medical sketch

Chris Rock got a hand (and a gall bladder) from one of his old men Saturday Night Live fellow players this week.

A sketch in Saturday’s SNL opened with Rock playing a doctor performing gallbladder surgery on a patient, with Sarah Sherman as an inept nurse named Lizley. The operation went awry when they discovered they were actually supposed to remove the patient’s appendix, and it was all Lizley’s fault. “I just want to own it. It was me,” Lizley admitted before fuming, “Are you guys mad at me?” She asked a doctor for a hug before being pushed away… and things got worse when they discovered an AirPod on an x-ray that Lizley dropped in the patient’s stomach.

The patient started to stir… and when he got up from the table, it was Adam Sandler! He didn’t get enough anesthesia, he said, and he started spurting blood everywhere from an artery as soon as he sat up. He managed to hit every single one of the doctors with his syringe blood, including Rock’s surgeon, who got drenched in the process. Wanting to do something to repay the doctors for their service, the patient offered to share a buried stash of money with them and began to tell them the location – but he was interrupted when Lizley pulled the plug on him to charge his AirPods. Oops!
