game

Who is the best player in college football? For the coveted Heisman Trophy, it all comes down to four finalists vying for the top individual prize in college football.

The stage is set as we find out this year’s winner tomorrow. Here’s what you need to know.

When will the 2024 Heisman winner be announced? How to watch the Heisman ceremony

The ceremony takes place on Saturday 14 December at 20 A.M. The broadcast airs on ESPN and can be streamed on ESPN+.

Who are the 2024 Heisman Trophy Finalists?

Here are this year’s Heisman finalists:

  • Oregon QB Dillon Gabriel
  • Colorado WR/DB Travis Hunter
  • Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty
  • Miami QB Cam Ward

Arizona State running back Cam Tax House and the Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders were major Heisman snubs, according to fans.

Will Ohio State’s Will Howard be at the ceremony?

Buckeyes quarterback Will Howard landed on the watch list of the top preseason Heisman Trophy contenders by NCAA. Despite posting a 72.3% completion rate and throwing for 27 touchdowns in the regular season, Howard was not among the finalists for the award.

As talk surrounding Howard’s Heisman candidacy died down, Howard remained composed, noting that winning football games is his primary concern, according to Sports Illustrated.

It’s unlikely we’ll see Howard attend the event on Saturday. Current finalists and past winners, such as Ohio State legend Archie Griffin, are typically invited to the annual event.

Troy Smith was the most recent Heisman Trophy winner from Ohio State. He won it in 2006.

Who won the Heisman Trophy in 2023?

LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels was the winner of the Heisman Trophy last year. Daniels was the third LSU player to win the Heisman, after current Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow (2019) and RB Billy Cannon (1959).
