Morgan Wallen’s charges in chair-throwing case are reduced

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Country music star Morgan Wallen’s charges in the case that he threw a chair off the top of a Nashville bar will be reduced.

Wallen, 31, was arrested after he was seen throwing a chair from the top of Eric Church’s bar Chief’s on April 7, the bar’s opening weekend.

The chair reportedly landed just feet away from two Metro Nashville Police Department officers who were on foot that night along Broadway.

Wallen was charged with three counts of felony reckless endangerment and one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct when the incident happened. The three charges will now be reduced to misdemeanors.

The country music star’s attorney filed Tuesday to have the charges transferred to Davidson County Circuit Criminal Court. That court will now hear his case on Thursday, December 12.

It is unknown whether Wallen will appear in court, but the outcome of his case may be decided that day.
