Hailey Bieber discusses the impact of Justin Bieber’s Lyme disease diagnosis

Hailey Bieber recently shared insight into how her husband, pop star Justin Bieber, has navigated life with Lyme disease. Married since 2018, the couple welcomed their first child, Jack Blues Bieber, this year. Justin, who revealed his diagnosis in 2020, described how the disease, caused by bacteria from infected ticks, had severely affected his skin, energy, brain function and overall health.

Hailey, speaking in an earlier episode of Women’s Health UK’s podcast Goes for goalemphasized how the diagnosis changed their view of health. “Lyme disease makes you more aware of how you feel and what symptoms you need to deal with,” she said. Hailey, who has also experienced Lyme disease, praised the importance of finding knowledgeable doctors to manage the complex disease.

The journey has not been easy. Shortly after Justin’s announcement, he took to social media to criticize the media for using unflattering photos of his most challenging moments. He expressed frustration and pleaded with publications to portray him fairly, especially given his ongoing health battle.

The couple have continued to advocate for understanding and awareness of Lyme disease, a condition that is often misunderstood. Hailey highlighted the misunderstandings surrounding the disease and their focus on finding the right medical support. Their shared experience has not only strengthened their bond, but also inspired discussions about chronic illness and compassion.

Justin’s openness about his struggles, coupled with Hailey’s support, underscores their resilience as they continue to navigate health challenges while raising their son.
