The Kansas City Chiefs jumped out to a two-score lead over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday Night Football when Patrick Mahomes connected with wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins for a touchdown just before halftime.

Although the Chiefs’ offense struggled to get into a rhythm early in the game, Mahomes caught fire on Kansas City’s final drive of the second quarter, and Hopkins took advantage of his opportunity to make an impact in the red zone.

Before Mahomes’ touchdown pass to Hopkins, the Chiefs had scored only field goals against Los Angeles’ stingy defense, and Kansas City appeared to be stalling.

Take a look at the touchdown, which was posted by the Chiefs’ official Twitter account:

Fans can expect Mahomes to continue to look Hopkins’ way when Kansas City finds itself in scoring position.

The Chiefs will look to build on their lead in the second half as they try to win another AFC West title.
