‘Lionesse’ season 2 finale shocks viewers, ending explained

“Lionesse” stunned viewers with a stunning season two finale.

*WARNING: THERE WILL BE SERIOUS SPOILERS BELOW. CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED.*

The season two finale was released Sunday on Paramount+, and the eighth and final episode of the latest season of Taylor Sheridan’s hit saga was every bit as amazing as expected.

The epic spy/military series is the best show on TV right now. It’s a masterclass in action and storytelling.

Fans expected a wild end to the season, and that’s exactly what they got with “The Compass Points Home.”

“Lionesse” ends season two with an epic fight scene.

Now, I won’t spoil the entire finale. I will leave the story of the cartels for you all to watch and enjoy.

What I want to break down is the absolutely epic mission to Iran to smoke two Chinese nuclear scientists and send the message that America can reach out and touch the bad guys whenever we want, wherever we want.

Remember when I said the season two premiere had the best gunfight scene in television history? Well, it certainly did back then.

The season two finale now takes that crown. The season two finale featured Cruz and Carrillo rolling into Iran on a helicopter with two Delta Force operatives acting as recon and snipers.

With Joe and the rest of the team remaining as the QRF, it was clear that they would eventually be called in, and that’s exactly what happened when the helicopter was shot down.

What unfolded during the episode was easily the best action sequence ever aired on television. Viewers had to witness Iranian fighter jets being mowed down, a tank destroyed at close range, airstrikes and non-stop gunfire in a fight sequence that rivals anything in a major Hollywood film.

I was clinging to the edge of my seat the whole time. It seemed that Joe and her team would be overrun and this was the end of the story. She even asked Carrillo to hide his gun for them so they could kill themselves over being captured alive.

Luckily, air support showed up just in time to unleash some serious hate on the baddies. Also, shout out to Taylor Sheridan for creating a great spy/military show…and then making himself a badass Delta Force operator in it. What’s the point of being a Hollywood power player if you can’t turn yourself into a Delta Force operator on your own show?

Alpha behavior.

Overall, “Lionness” season two exceeded all expectations, and was even better than season one – which was great. Now we sit and wait for season three. Hit me up with your thoughts at [email protected].
