BROMLEY v GILLINGHAM

Hayes Lane

Wednesday, December 4

Sky Bet League 2

Kick-off, 19.45

Keep news:

Bradley Dack (hamstring) and Armani Little will be unavailable for the midweek trip to Hayes Lane. However, Robbie McKenzie, along with George Lapslie, is ready to play if selected. Oliver Hawkins could also return to the squad.

As for Bromley, former Gills midfielder Ben Thompson is likely to play for the Ravens, as is Jude Arthurs, who came through the club’s academy system.

Manager’s comments:

Mark Bonner“I’m really excited about the game – these kinds of games are fantastic because the atmosphere will take care of itself, as there is always a bit more edge and intensity in a local derby.

“They had a brilliant season last season to get promoted and have acquitted themselves well for League Two, they were excellent at Walsall last week.”

Previous meetings:

The clubs have not met in any competition since November 2006 when Bromley visited ME7 in the first round of the Emirates FA Cup. The Gills won 4-1 on the day thanks to two goals from Mark Bentley, then two more from sub Guylain N’dumbu-N’sungu.

Bromley had made it 2-1 but the Gills quickly saw off any chance of an upset to book their place in round two, where they lost to Bristol City.

Incredibly, Gillingham and Bromley have not played each other in a league game since March 1895!
