When Andrew Tate’s former sponsor exposed him for purposefully posting controversial videos

Controversial social media superstar Andrew Tate has been the talk of the internet for quite some time now. Having risen to worldwide popularity during COVID, Tate is actually a former professional kickboxer.

While his controversial footage online has often got everyone talking, an interesting claim was made by his former sponsor. During an interview with Sporf, Daniel Knight, the founder of Sidekick Boxing and Tate’s former sponsor, suggested that ‘Cobra’ knows what he’s doing.

Knight started his martial arts equipment company back in 2010 and sponsored Tate in 2012. After working with Tate for years during his kickboxing days, the sidekick boxing founder suggested the former kickboxer just wanted to be famous. He suggested that Tate’s online persona is a bit of an act, saying:

“He knew what he was doing all along. He just wanted to be famous, he never wanted to work a nine-to-five job. He didn’t want an office job, he didn’t want to work under anybody, and I think he is much smarter than people give him credit for.”

Also, Knight talked about how Tate said certain things just for commitment. He said:

“He got under people’s skin with the things he did, he was just clever, and now everyone makes these kinds of silly videos just to get engagement. But he was way ahead of that, he was, I think, that started it all.”
