When will Spotify Wrapped, Apple Recap, second year in reviews come out?

If you’re wondering when your social media will be flooded with stories and posts about everyone’s music tastes via Spotify wrappedthe answer is that no one knows.

The music streaming service has not yet announced when it will 2024 Wrapped will fall, but it will probably be soon. In recent years, Spotify Wrapped has been released as early as November 29th and as late as December 6th.

Spotify Wrapped is not the first case of a company trying to find a cool and interesting way to present data to its users, but it has probably been the most successful thanks to its very personal and very shareable nature.

Of course, not everyone is a Spotify subscriber either. Competing audio streaming services such as YouTube Music and Apple Music have come up with their own year-in-review versions.

Music stats are fun to look at, but they’re certainly not the only year-in-review data people have been interested in over the years. Google releases its lists of top searches throughout the year to similar fanfare.

Here’s how and when to wrap up 2024.

When will Spotify Wrapped 2024 be released?

If history is any indicator, there’s a good chance that Spotify Wrapped 2024 will drop on December 4th or 5th.

While there’s no real rhyme or reason to when Spotify will release its summary, the company has historically launched it on the last Wednesday of November or the first Wednesday or Thursday of December.

30 November 2022: Wednesday
1 December 2021: Wednesday
1 December 2020: Tuesday
5 December 2019: Thursday
6 December 2018: Thursday

The only exception was in 2020.

How can I see my Spotify Wrapped?

While many companies make their users dig for their summaries, Spotify makes sure to knock you over the head with it. You’ll typically see something about Spotify Wrapped when you first open your app after it’s been released, provided your app is up to date.

If you can’t see it, or you want to take a look at your previous wraps, just type “wrapped” in the search box at the top of the app. You will find “Your best songs x”, where x will be whatever year is relevant to you.

Admittedly, the search results can be a bit confusing because they lump the covers together with other songs and playlists. You can make sure it’s the right one by looking for the “Made for you” tag under the playlist.

When will Apple Music Replay be released?

Apple Replay came out on Tuesday. To check your replay, you can go to replay.music.apple.com and log in to your account. You can also view it through the app on your iPhone or iPad by opening the Music app and navigating to the “Home” tab. Scroll down to “Replay: Your Best Songs by Year.” You can even listen to your stats by pressing “Listen back”.

This year’s repeat includes how many minutes of music you listened to on the service, what genres you listened to, and how many artists. Like Spotify Wrapped, it also tells people if they’re a superfan of an artist and when they’ve crossed listening milestones for the year.

When is YouTube Music Recap coming out?

Alphabet released YouTube Music Recap on November 25th. To find your summary, open the app and tap your profile picture in the top right, then tap “Get Your Summary”. From there, you can download and share the stories on your favorite social media platform.

Podcasts have been added to Musikrecap this year. Two new cards will show your best podcast of the year and provide an overview of your top 5 podcasts. Pro tip: Linking your Google Photos to YouTube Music will improve the quality of the images in the summary.

When will the Duolingo Year in Review be released?

Duolingo power users have probably already seen their 2024 Year in Reviews, as the app makes it almost impossible to miss, but if it’s been a while since you’ve logged in, you’ve probably gotten an email about it.

Open the app to find your Duolingo 2024 Year in Review. You will immediately be shown a pop-up with a bit about your usage and a button that says “see year in overview.” Click that button and you will be taken directly to the page.

If you clicked “not now” and can’t find the review, press the “Profile” button and select “View Years in Review” and then select “Start.”

When is the Fitbit Year in Review coming out?

FitBit users hoping to see their year in review before the end of the year may be a little disappointed, as the company typically doesn’t release its summary until January.

When is Google’s year in search coming out?

Google’s Year in Search is an annual highlight that is more a reflection of the year than perhaps any other summation. While not personal, it does an excellent job of highlighting some of the biggest celebrations and even saddest tragedies of the past 12 months.

Google’s year of search for 2024 isn’t out yet, but you can probably expect to see it within the next week or two. Last year’s review was published on 11th December and 2022’s was published on 7th December.

Why can’t I see my Spotify Wrapped, recap, etc.?

The first problem is that the summary may not be available yet. If you’re not sure, look above to find the app and see if the summary is available. If it’s available and you still can’t find it, you probably need to update your app.

Make sure your app is up to date

You’ll want to make sure you have the latest version of the app associated with the summary you’re looking for.

If you are on iOS:

Visit the App Store and tap your profile icon in the top right corner. Scroll down to see pending updates and tap “update”. You can then scroll down to find the app you’re looking for and click “update” next to that app. If you see multiple apps that need to be updated, you should probably click “update all.”

Alternatively, you can search for that app in the search bar to be taken to its app page. If the app is not updated, the button will say “update,”; otherwise it will say “open”.

If you are on Android:

Visit the Play Store and tap on your profile icon, also located in the top right corner. From there, tap “manage apps and device.” If you have updates available, you will see “updates available” with the number of pending updates below. You should probably click “update all”, but if you only want to update one app, tap “updates available”. On the new page, tap “update” next to the app you want to update.

Or you can search for that app in the search bar to be taken to its app page. If the app is not updated, the button will say “update,”; otherwise it will say “open”.
