‘Hadestown’ Announces New Broadway Casting

Three actors will join the company of the Tony Award-winning musical, which has been playing at the Walter Kerr Theater for over five years, in January 2025.

They are going to hell! Hadestown has named three new cast members who will join the show at the Walter Kerr Theater starting January 14, 2025.

Participant Hadestown on Broadway, Tony Award nominee Hailey Kilgore (Once on this island) as Eurydice, Carlos Valdes (The CW’s The Flash) as Orpheus, and Tom Hewitt, who rejoins the cast for the fourth time as Hades.

They replace current stars Maia Reficco, Jordan Fisher and Phillip Boykin, respectively, who will all play their final performance on January 12.

The current one Hadestown The Broadway cast also includes Lillias White as Hermes, Allison Russell as Persephone and Shea Renee, Jessie Shelton and Brit West as the Fates.

Created by Anaïs Mitchell and director Rachel Chavkin, Hadestown is a folk and jazz rendition of Greek mythology. The musician Orpheus embarks on a perilous journey to the underworld to rescue his lover, Eurydice, meeting gods and more along the way.

In 2019, when the show premiered on Broadway, Hadestown won eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
