College Football Playoff Week 14 scores, analysis and live updates: Georgia Tech leads No. 7 in Georgia

Georgia came alive in the third quarter, scoring a touchdown and stopping Georgia Tech for the first time. But a questionable decision to go for two appeared to stifle the momentum, and as the fourth quarter begins, Georgia Tech is inside the 10 again, looking to take a 17-6 lead.

Kirby Smart elected to go for a two-point conversion following a Carson Beck touchdown pass. There was probably a mathematical reason for that, as Smart is very analyst-minded. But there was also 9:53 left in the third quarter and Georgia finally gained momentum. The conversion attempt, a pass to the left, was stopped easily. And then Georgia Tech held the ball for the rest of the quarter, converting on several third downs as Georgia’s defense again looked overmatched.
