Who will Georgia football play in the SEC Championship in 2024?

The Georgia Bulldogs’ opponent in the SEC championship game has not been determined yet, but we do know that Georgia will play the winner of the Texas A&M-Texas game.

ESPN gives Texas a 77.3% chance to win at Texas A&M, which seems a little generous. The Longhorns are 5 1/2-point road favorites according to BetMGM.

Of course, Georgia already has an impressive 30-15 win over Texas this season. The Bulldogs haven’t played Texas A&M since 2019.

FanDuel projects Georgia would be 1 1/2-point favorites against Texas or 9 1/2-point favorites against Texas A&M in the SEC championship.

“My mind is on Georgia Tech,” Georgia head coach Kirby Smart said when asked about the SEC championship. “I mean, it’s a great honor to be able to play in the SEC championship. It’s probably one of the biggest events in all of sports because the games you play in are great matchups. But at this point, we don’t know sometime, who it is, and I don’t care. My concern is 100% with Georgia Tech.”

Smart and Georgia are playing in a fourth straight SEC championship game. The Bulldogs last won an SEC title in 2022.

“We worry about one game at a time,” Smart added. Georgia plays Georgia Tech on Friday night, so the Dawgs will be able to sit back and watch Texas and Texas A&M battle it out for an SEC championship bid.

The 2024 SEC Championship Game will be held at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday, December 7 at 7 p.m. 16 A.M. The SEC title game will be televised on ABC.
