Badger’s News: Game Thread Vs. Minnesota Golden Gophers

Fresh from a 44-25 loss to Nebraska CornhuskersThe Wisconsin Badgers are heading home to end their season facing Minnesota Golden Gopherswith kickoff scheduled for 11:00 a.m. at Camp Randall Stadium.

The Badgers absolutely collapsed last Saturday defensively, allowing scores on each of Nebraska’s first three possessions while really struggling to close out the first half, giving up back-to-back scores within a minute. From there, they could never really come back, despite a solid performance from quarterback Braedyn Locke, leading to the ugly loss.

With that, Wisconsin is 5-6 heading into Friday’s rivalry game against Minnesota, with the Ax Trophy on the line. The Badgers were able to regain it on the opposition’s turf last year, and that will be even more important this week because a bowl game is still up for grabs this weekend.

The Badgers, viewed as 1-point underdogs, are looking for their sixth win, entering a four-game losing streak, while Minnesota, 6-5, has lost two straight and hopes to turn things around.

Wisconsin has several players questionable on Friday as wide receiver Will Pauling, linebackers Jake Chaney and Jaheim Thomas, tight end Tucker Ashcraft and defensive linemen James Thompson Jr. and Elijah Hills are all questionable for the game.

However, star safety Hunter Wohler has been cleared and is good to go without a designation on Friday.
