Samsung Slashes Galaxy S24 Ultra Price in Big New Deal

Samsung has slashed the price of the Galaxy S24 Ultra (again) in one of its best deals yet.

The company’s new Black Friday deal knocks a whopping £250 ($316.72) off the flagship phone until December 3rd. If you were patient and disciplined enough to resist Samsung’s repeated discounts leading up to the shopping holiday, this is one of the better prices for the smartphone so far.

Samsung has also combined the price cut with a handful of freebies.

  • Free Galaxy Buds Pro (if buyers leave a review).
  • Free Galaxy Ring Size Kit and 25% off the wearable.
  • An additional 5% discount if the Galaxy S24 Ultra is purchased via the Samsung Shopping app (with code “BF5”).
  • One free month with Samsung Care Plus.

The company has also raised trade-in prices, which top out at £490 ($620.77). Only the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will take the top figure, while the best price you’ll get for any Apple phone is £430 ($544.76) for the iPhone 14 Pro Max. None of them are worthy of trading in because of how new they are.

A more realistic device to trade in, the Samsung Galaxy S21, is priced at just £240 ($304.05). In the US, Samsung will pay $650 for the same handset, almost double what UK shoppers are being offered.

It’s not clear why there is an imbalance in trade-in prices between the UK and US Samsung stores, but I’ve also seen European customers complain about being offered less than expected. It’s worth checking secondary market prices before accepting Samsung’s trade-in figures.

The free pair of Galaxy Buds for shoppers who write a review is a particularly aggressive and peculiar move by Samsung. These are the type of provisions I expect to see from a small Amazon seller, not a giant conglomerate.

However, it does show the price competition the market has experienced over the past 12 months and Samsung’s commitment to doing almost anything to gain an advantage. This is a long-standing tradition for the Korean company, as those familiar with its marketing history know.

This promotion runs until December 3rd and it’s one of the better deals I’ve seen so far. The company releases new prices every day, so there will be more opportunities to get a discount on a Galaxy S24 Ultra, especially as we get closer to the release of the Galaxy S25 in January.
