The Arizona Cardinals would have been a good landing spot for former New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones. Regardless of whether the team was interested in acquiring him after his release and waivers, he will not join Arizona.

According to multiple reports, he will join the Cardinals’ Week 13 opponent, the Minnesota Vikings. He signs with their practice squad.

He will be paid the remainder of his 2024 salary (roughly $13.8 million) by the New York Giants, minus the more than $21,000 per week the Vikings will pay him as part of the practice squad.

Jones wanted to join a playoff contender, and the Vikings are 9-2 and currently fifth in the NFC playoffs.

It is highly unlikely that the Cardinals will face Jones. He will only have been on the team for a few days and they have Sam Darnold as their starter with Nick Mullens as their backup.
