Trevon Diggs Injury Update: Dallas Cowboys Inactive vs. Giants exposed

Although Trevon Diggs said he’ll give it a shot against the New York Giants, he’s inactive for Thursday’s game, the Dallas Cowboys announced. He was among the seven players suspended for the Thanksgiving game.

Diggs was limited in two of the Cowboys’ three practices this week and entered Thursday questionable because of his groin injury. However, he won’t be able to go against the shorthanded Giants, who will be without a quarterback Tommy DeVito due to injury. Drew Lock starting at quarterback.

Guard Zack Martin and tight end Jake Ferguson was already ruled out on Wednesday’s final injury report. Here is the full list of inactives for the Cowboys against the Giants.

The Cowboys are coming off a thrilling win over the Washington Commanders a week ago to snap a five game losing streak. It came down to the final seconds, but a missed extra point Austin Seibert sealed the victory in a game with plenty of ups and downs.

Thursday’s game against the Giants gives the Cowboys another opportunity to keep the momentum going. New York released Daniel Jones last week, and DeVito is officially inactive for the matchup. That means Lock will start at quarterback.

After the Commanders game, Mike McCarthy summed up what it meant to get a division win. But despite the importance of the win, he said there is still work to be done to fully get back on track after the skid.

“Obviously, if you need a definition of urgency, we’ve certainly had that over the last month and, frankly, I’m just grateful and really happy for the players – to have some success that they work so hard to achieve,” said McCarthy, according to the team’s official website. “The fight has definitely been there. … (But) we’re still pretty far down the valley of adversity right now. We’ve taken a step in the right direction, so we still have a lot of climbing back.”
