How much does Lainey Wilson make for the Thanksgiving Halftime Show?

Thanksgiving is here! And once the cooking and cleaning are done, it’s all about football matches. This year, the NFL gives us three games to watch, but the Dallas Cowboys’ Thanksgiving Day game is a tradition that dates back to 1966.

Now this year’s match may not seem so exciting. The struggling Cowboys take the fight up Tommy DeVito and the New York Giants. The teams have a combined six wins. But before you turn one on Thanksgiving moviethere’s one reason you’ll want to tune in. Even if the game is a snooze, the halftime show won’t be, thanks to the country music star Lainey Wilson.

Lainey has the honor of performing the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Kickoff Halftime Show after Dolly Parton took the field last year. The event dates back to 1997 and past performers include Randy Travis, LeeAnn Rimes, Toby Keith, Carrie Underwood, Kelly ClarksonKeith Urban, Luke Bryan and Luke Combs. But you might be wondering how much money is the NFL paying to land this kind of talent?

Because the event marks the official kickoff to the Salvation Army’s fundraising campaign, Lainey is not expected to earn a salary. After all, Dolly donated $1 million of her own money during the event last year to support the cause. Plus, artists not even getting paid to perform at the Super Bowl halftime showso we would not expect them to be paid for this minor event.

In her promotional video for the event, Lainey says, “You may know me for my bell, but I also want to be known for my bell that rings. I’m so happy to announce that I’ve teamed up with The Salvation Army for to love beyond the holidays and make a difference in our communities all year round.”

If you want to catch Lainey (and a surprise special guest), be sure to tune in to the NFL game at 3:30pm EST on Fox. The day will be filled with entertainment. Shaboozey is set to perform at the Chicago Bears vs. Detroit Lions game, and famed violinist Lindsey Stirling will take the field at the Miami Dolphins vs. Green Bay Packers game.

Now we just have to wait and see if Lainey will follow in Dolly’s footsteps and carry Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader uniform!
