Go to work with The Outsiders’ Sky Lakota-Lynch, no longer a Broadway Outsider | Broadway Buzz

Charlie Cooper and Sky Lakota-Lynch

In her novel The outsidersSE Hinton introduces 16-year-old Johnny Cade as a “little dark puppy who has been kicked too many times and is lost in a crowd of strangers.”

When he first arrived in New York City, Sky Lakota-Lynch could relate to that lost, helpless feeling. “When I first got to Broadway, I was unsure how to navigate the business,” he told Charlie Cooper on Broadway Show. “I felt a bit of an outsider and I kind of had to earn my own way into the business.”

Lakota-Lynch earned a Tony nomination for her portrayal of Johnny in The outsiders on Broadway. Taking to the Bernard B. Jacobs Theater with Cooper, Lakota-Lynch opened up about bringing her full self to the role, dirt on stage, Tony night and more.
