“Oh, Mary!” is officially a Broadway hit. The new comedy from Cole Escola has recouped its $4,525,000 investment, producers Kevin McCollum, Lucas McMahon, Mike Lavoie and Carlee Briglia announced on November 25. “Oh, Mary!” is the first show of the current Broadway season to report that its production costs have been recouped. Playwright Escola stars as Mary Todd Lincoln alongside Conrad Ricamora as Mary’s husband, James Scully as Mary’s teacher, Bianca Leigh as Mary’s chaperone and Tony Macht as Mary’s husband’s assistant, with Peter Smith, Hannah Solow and Martin Landry completing the company. Casting is by Henry Russell Bergstein, CSA.

“Oh, Mary!” began previews June 26 and opened July 11 at the Lyceum, where it continues to play. Originally planned as a limited engagement through September 15, the production has been extended twice and is currently scheduled to run through January 19, 2025.
