Couturier caps Flyers comeback with OT winner against Predators

Laughton tied the game 1-1 at 12:46 on a shot from under the left face-off circle.

“There were a lot of minutes where it just wasn’t good for us tonight,” Flyers coach John Tortorella said. “I’m happy to admit that. But I just like the way they just kept going and trying to hook up. You have to make big saves at key times to stay there. We just kept talking about just trying to get to our game, trying to play forward.”

O’Reilly gave the Predators a 2-1 lead at 16:18 on a one-timer from the left circle off a pass from Gustav Nyquist.

“We had some big opportunities that we didn’t score on,” O’Reilly said. “I think at times we tilted the ice, had all the momentum and needed to score. It is clearly the same. We haven’t scored a goal. Just make it a one-goal game and of course they stick with it and make a nice play at the end to tie it up. But it was definitely there for us.”

NOTES: Predators defenseman Adam Wilsby made his NHL debut and finished with one shot on goal and five shot attempts in 17:27 of ice time. … Sanheim finished with one shot on goal in 26:23 of ice time. … O’Reilly scored his first goal since Oct. 28 against the Tampa Bay Lightning. … Predators defenseman Jeremy Lauzon did not play and will be out week-to-week with a lower-body injury.
