The Christopher Reeve Story’ debuts December 7 on HBO and Max

Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story from Ian Bonhôte and Peter Ettedgui will premiere on HBO on Saturday, December 7 at 8 p.m. ET (and will be available to stream on Max). Logline: After a life-changing accident, Christopher Reeve persevered, using his fame to speak about hope and to change our perception of paralysis, all while remaining a dedicated activist, actor and filmmaker, devoted father and loving husband to Dana Reeve. the beating heart of the family.

Chronicling his personal and professional life before and after the near-fatal riding accident in 1995 that left him paralyzed from the neck down, the film uses Reeve’s own words, as well as extended interviews with Reeve’s three children about their father.

Hailed by the critics, Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story Originally debuting at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, it recently won six Critics Choice Documentary Awards.

Christopher Reeve appeared in three Superman films during his career, but was reluctant to make a fourth film after the lackluster box office for Superman III. His legacy includes Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundationwhich is dedicated to cure spinal cord injuries by promoting innovative research and improving the quality of life for individuals and families affected by paralysis.

Reeve died in 2004 at the age of 52.
