Markus Burton injury update: TBS broadcast reveals unfortunate news about Notre Dame guard

Notre Dame guard Marcus Burton is out for the rest of Tuesday night’s game against Rutgers with a knee injury, it was revealed on the TBS broadcast.

Burton suffered the injury in the first half when a Scarlet Knights player landed on top of him. He had to be taken to the dressing room and was later seen back on the bench with his leg propped up as a sideline reporter Allie LaForce offered the update on his status.

“Burton came out of the dressing room and you can tell he looks devastated,” she said. “He has had his foot braced and he will not return to this match. Just a reminder to everyone in case they missed it, he took a pretty hard fall and his knee got hit pretty hard. He went back to the locker room and decided he would not return to the game. They will wait until after the game to take him to get his knee evaluated more.”
