Wendy Williams ‘permanently incapacitated,’ TMZ reports

Wendy Williams is reportedly “permanently incapacitated” due to her battle with dementia, according to her guardian.

According to reports from TMZ, the former talk show and radio host’s guardian claims that she “has suffered from early-onset dementia and as a result has become cognitively impaired and permanently incapacitated.”

Williams was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia just a year after being placed under legal guardianship to oversee her health and finances.

What are dementia and aphasia?

Aphasia is a disorder that affects communication, including speaking, writing and the ability to understand language.

Frontotemporal dementia, also known as FTD, is a progressive condition that affects cognitive function and tends to result in changes in behavior, speech and disposition.

It all comes just months after Williams was spotted in August for the first time in more than a year. A photo was shared on social media of her shopping at a holistic wellness store in New Jersey.

No word from her family on the latest news.
