Cold front moving through, another one on the menu for Thanksgiving

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Mostly cloudy skies for the first half of the day after a few isolated showers were seen this morning. Winds will begin to shift out of the N after the cold front passes through SE Louisiana today. High temperatures will not budge much from our morning temperatures.

Lunchtime forecast: Mostly cloudy with temperatures near 70.

Temperatures are expected to remain below average well beyond the big Thanksgiving Day cold front for the central and eastern United States

On Wednesday, we’ll see a brief warm-up ahead of the next big cold front arriving on Thanksgiving Day. Highs tomorrow rise into the upper 70s, winds shift back from the south. Some isolated showers are expected to develop in the afternoon, but these will be light and short-lived.

Thursday, THANKSGIVING DAYis the day of our more impactful cold front of the week. Isolated showers will be seen that morning. Models are pointing to a brief break in rain chances around lunchtime before showers and potential thunderstorms build up in the late afternoon and into the night. Highs in the low 70s, with cooler air channels that evening/night. Lows will drop into the upper 40s, then return to 59 degrees the following day. Black Friday shopping will be COOL!
