The weather may cause some problems for East Tennesseans traveling for Thanksgiving

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Several fronts are moving across the region and appear to offer the possibility of causing delays in your Thanksgiving travel plans.

Our first system arrives overnight and most of the rain has cleared in time to travel Tuesday and into Wednesday.

If you are looking towards West Tennessee, north or even south, the roads will be perfectly fine on Tuesday. Even flights across the region look good with our next system to the west.

Wednesday will be a bit more difficult as our next cold front approaches from the west. If you’re traveling across East Tennessee, the weather looks pretty good until late Wednesday night.

Traveling west and north, rain and wind will begin to pick up as the front approaches.

On Thanksgiving Day, you may dodge some showers and wet roads as the front clears to the east.

If you’re heading over to North Carolina, the weather looks good for travel through Wednesday night before more rain and wind returns.
