Krispy Kreme unveils Whoville-inspired donut collection

Fans of Dr. Seuss and Christmas are in for a treat this holiday season.

Krispy Kreme announced Monday that it is bringing Dr. Seuss’ Who-ville come to life with the Merry Grinchmas Donut Collection.

Available starting Friday, Nov. 29 and for a limited time, the collection consists of three new donuts, each based on a character from the holiday classic “How the Grinch Stole Christmas!” The collection also features two returning doughnuts: the Santa Belly Donut and the Holiday Sprinkle Doughnut.

  • (New) Grinch Donut: An unglazed donut filled with “charcoal” Cookies & Kreme filling, dipped in Grinch green frosting with a chocolate frosted smiley grin and buttercream hair.
  • (New) Grinchy Claus Doughnut: An original glazed donut dipped in chocolate glaze, topped with white buttercream, Christmas crispies and Grinch piece.
  • (New) Cindy-Lou Who Merry Berry Tree Doughnut: An original glazed donut dipped in strawberry flavored glaze with a green buttercream tree, festively sprinkled and topped with a star piece.
  • Santa Belly Donut: An unglazed donut filled with white cream, drizzled in red glaze, topped with a black chocolate elf belt and topped with a belt buckle.
  • Christmas sprinkle doughnut: An original glazed donut dipped in chocolate glaze with festive sprinkles.

The collection will be available in a limited edition, customized Grinch dozen box, according to the donut chain.

Customers can also get a limited-time Krispy Kreme dozen or 6-pack of Grinch donut, Cindy-Lou Who Merry Berry Tree donut, Santa Belly donut and Holiday Sprinkle donut delivered fresh daily to select grocery stores. Here you can find a store or grocery store near you.

“Who wants to celebrate Christmas with Krispy Kreme?! Our Merry Grinchmas donuts are guaranteed to make even the Grinchiest Grinch smile,” said Dave Skena, Krispy Kreme Global Chief Brand Officer, in the press release announcing the donut collection.

Krispy Kreme ‘Day of the Dozens’ returns December 12th

The company also announced that it will “continue to spread Christmas cheer” with the return of its annual “Day of the Dozens”.

On December 12, Krispy Kreme will offer customers a $1 Original Glassed dozen when they purchase a dozen at regular price in store, in the drive-thru or online for pickup or delivery.
