Lions vs Bears prediction, betting odds, how to watch Thanksgiving

game

The Detroit Lions have another opportunity to rewrite a franchise narrative against the Chicago Bears at home on Thanksgiving.

The Lions and the Bears will meet on Thanksgiving for the 20th time in the longtime NFC North rivalry. The Lions have lost seven straight games on the holiday dating back to 2016, with three losses to Chicago in that stretch, for one of their longest losing streaks on the holiday.

The Lions enter this Thanksgiving game with momentum they’ve never had before. They are tied for the best record in the NFL at 10-1 and a nine-game winning streak that stretches back to mid-September. The Lions have the best scoring offense in the NFL, averaging 32.7 points per game. game, and can still win by double digits on an “off day” thanks to a top-five scoring defense that has weathered a storm of injuries to play its best ball as a unit in the four-year era of Dan Campbell and Brad Holmes.

According to BetMGMDetroit is favored by 10½ points on Thanksgiving against the Bears (4-7), who have lost five straight.

After the 24-6 win over the Colts, the Lions’ defense has now gone 10 quarters without allowing a touchdown, and has allowed zero points over the past three second halves of games. Despite key injuries across the front seven, the Lions have found ways to shut teams down as the offense continues at a blistering, record-setting pace.

The Lions suffered a few more injuries to Taylor Decker, Carlton Davis, David Montgomery and Kalif Raymond, but after the game Campbell said Raymond was the only one with a long-term concern.

They will host a Bears team that has lost five straight games in a short week. Chicago got off to a 4-2 start with rookie no. 1 overall draft pick quarterback Caleb Williams under center, but has slumped over the last month and a half. It started with a Hail Mary loss to the Washington Commanders, followed by double-digit losses to the New England Patriots and Arizona Cardinals. It reached a new level of heartbreak with a one-point loss to the Green Bay Packers on a blocked field goal as time expired and then Sunday’s 30-27 loss to the Minnesota Vikings on a field goal in overtime.

Williams and the Bears’ offense had one of its best games of the season against the Vikings. He threw for 340 yards on a 68% completion percentage (32-for-47) with two touchdowns, but the Bears defense had no answer to slow the Vikings offense, which had three players with 100 yards rushing or receiving.

Lions vs. Bears prediction for Week 13 Thanksgiving game

The Lions struggled in both games against Chicago last year. They overcame four turnovers at home to beat Chicago the week before Thanksgiving, then had three TO’s in a loss in the elements in early December. The Bears’ defense remains formidable, ranking just behind the Lions in turnovers forced and in the top 10 in scoring at 19.7 points allowed per possession. match but have been susceptible to the run which does not settle well in this match.

The Lions’ offense should come out with fervor after a ho-hum performance by their standards vs. Colts, while the defense could have its hands full against a rookie quarterback who showed progress last week against an aggressive Minnesota schedule. Still, the Lions should find enough stops to snap this holiday skid. The choice: Lions 34, Bears 20.
