Carolina Panthers tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders was carted off Sunday’s matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The rookie appeared to injure his neck after recording a 10-yard reception late in the second quarter of the Week 12 contest. Sanders ran to the sideline when he was tackled by Chiefs cornerback Trent McDuffie and linebacker Drue Tranquill, whose hit landed Sanders on the top of his head.

Sanders, to that point, tallied three catches for a team-high 49 receiving yards.

Update (2:51 p.m. ET): Sanders (neck) has been taken to a hospital for further evaluation.
