Lions return drive off against Colts

game

Detroit Lions wide receiver and return man Kalif Raymond left Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis in Week 12 of the 2024 NFL season.

Raymond was injured on a punt return in the third quarter, where he was spun around and fell awkwardly on the frame.

Raymond left the game and was immediately taken into the blue medical tent to be evaluated and wasn’t in there long before he jumped on a cart and was taken back to the locker room.

It wasn’t immediately clear what injured Raymond, but the do-it-all receiver limped and it appeared his left leg was bothering him.

Raymond has stood up for Lions this year after they let Josh Reynolds walk in free agency and has been the Lions’ no. 3 receiver. Raymond had 16 catches for 204 yards and two touchdowns through the air entering Sunday’s game, but is especially a weapon in the return game.

Raymond was named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week after going on a rampage against the Tennessee Titans with five punt returns for 190 yards, 17 shy of the NFL record. He also had a 64-yard punt return and had a 44-yard return negated by penalty along with a 90-yard touchdown return.

A few plays after Raymond was injured, left tackle Taylor Decker went down with an injury and was also taken to the medical tent.

Decker was replaced by swing tackle Dan Skipper and the Lions ended the drive with a Jahmyr Gibbs touchdown.
