Will There Be A ‘Tulsa King’ Season 3 With Sylvester Stallone?

Season 2 of Sylvester Stallone’s mob series King of Tulsa completed Sunday. Is season 3 in progress at Paramount+?

Stallone, of course, stars as Dwight “The General” Manfredi King of Tulsaa mob capo and ex-convict who is ordered by his bosses to move from New York City to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to set up a new operation.

In Season 1, Dwight becomes romantically involved with an FBI agent, Stacy Beale (Andrea Savage), leading to a set-up and bust by the FBI and a trial to begin Season 2.

In the second season of King of TulsaDwight is acquitted of charges, but is confronted by an oil baron and weed magnate, Cal Thresher (Neal McDonough) and his gangster associate Jackie Ming (Rich Ting), as well as Kansas City mob boss Bill Bevilaqua (Frank Grillo).

In addition, Dwight is feeling the heat from his former mob boss Charles “Chickie” Invernizzi (Domenick Lombardozzi), who is being pressured by his colleague Vince Antonacci (Vincent Piazza) to bring the capo back into the fold.

Like the first season of the Taylor Sheridan series, King of Tulsa Season 2 ends on a cliffhanger. Does the unresolved issue mean there will be a season 3?

If ‘Tulsa King’ Returns For Season 3, What Will Be The Plot?

In it King of Tulsa Season 2 finale Sylvester Stallone’s Dwight Manfredi seems to have most of his issues resolved.

In episode 9, Jackie Ming paid the ultimate price for trying to kill Dwight earlier in the season. In episode 10, Dwight is forced to wipe out Cal Thresher from the weed operation Cal ran with Ming, and the oil baron ultimately has to settle for making his money solely from oil.

In addition, Bill Bevilaqua still believes he is entitled to a 50 percent cut of Dwight’s business in Tulsa, but Dwight balks at the suggestion since he saved Bill and Cal from Ming.

Bill is obviously unhappy with Dwight, and it looks like he’s going to team up with Chickie Invernizzi to put the Tulsa King out of business. Shockingly, Bill executes Chickie in front of Dwight, prompting Dwight to give Bill the 50 percent he asked for because he deserved it.

All along, the federal government has been monitoring Dwight, and in the final scene of episode 10, a masked group apprehends Dwight and places a hood over his head. When Dwight is taken to a secret facility, one of the group members tells him that he is working for them now.

In an interview with USA todaythe Rocky the movie icon makes it appear King of Tulsa Season 3 is anything but a given, though it hasn’t been formally announced.

Essentially, Stallone shared USA todaythe people who kidnap him in the Season 2 finale are secret government agents who want to turn Dwight into an informant.

“I don’t want to cheat, but if I have to do some deed to people who deserve it, I will,” Stallone said. USA today. “That’s how I rationalize it.”

Naturally, the shadow organization has a leader who has yet to be cast. However, Stallone teased that he already had someone in mind.

“It has to be an important actor, someone we haven’t seen in a while,” Stallone told USA Today. “I have a dream casting in mind. He’ll be surprised when I call and might say no.”

Stallone also mentioned in USA today interview that Dwight’s territory will expand in season 3 to include multiple states, an idea explored in the season 2 finale.

“I’m going to take him on a journey that he never expected,” Stallone shared USA today of his plans for his character in the yet-to-be-announced King of Tulsa Season 3. “The most important thing is to keep the fish-out-of-water situation going. Because once (Manfredi) gets into a situation, it becomes almost like a sitcom.”

King of Tulsa Season 1 and Season 2 are streaming on Paramount+, while the announcement of King of Tulsa Season 3 is still pending.
