Heavy traffic expected in Tempe for ASU football

With Sun Devil football set to host an afternoon game on Saturday as well as homecoming festivities on the ASU campus, heavy traffic is expected in Tempe this weekend.

The Sun Devils game against the BYU Cougars starts at 1:30 PM at Mountain America Stadium.

Most of the traffic will be in Tempe, where drivers should be aware of extensive restrictions in connection with ASU homecoming.

Several roads in the ASU campus area will be closed between Friday evening and Saturday evening, including stretches of University Drive, 10th Street and Myrtle Avenue.

ASU-BYU pregame/homecoming schedule for Saturday

For the ASU game, guest and paid parking lots will open at 8:30

Homecoming festivities on Saturday begin with a parade down University Drive from 9.30 to 11.30

An ASU block party that precedes the football game is also set to begin at 9:30. The block party will take place in front of the Fulton Building and Old Main on University Drive.

A pregame tailgate at Mullett Arena opens at 11. The event is free and open to the public.

Around 11.10 a Sun Devil walk will take place on Ellie Ziegler Way.

Gates at Mountain America Stadium open for premium club members at 11.30, while the gates for the general public open at 12.00
