Khalid opens up about his sexuality for the first time.

The 26-year-old “Better” and “Young Dumb & Broke” singer came out as gay in new posts he made on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Khalid simply tweeted the rainbow flag emoji with some exclamation points and then asked fans to move on.

“!!! there you go. next topic please lol,” he wrote in a tweet Friday night (Nov. 22).

Someone responded to his tweet and said: “Wait, hope Mr. Khalid isn’t GEHHH!”

Khalid wrote back: “I am! And that’s okay.”

Khalid later added: “I got out and the world still keeps turning. Let’s get this straight (lmao) I’m not ashamed of my sexuality! Really it’s not a big deal! But I’m ok with me love you guys “

It’s the first time Khalid has spoken publicly about his sexuality, but he has always been an ally of the LGBTQ+ community. His song “Love Lies” was the official single for Dear Simon soundtrack, and he also spoke about society while being honored as one of Time’s Most Influential Teens of 2017.

“America today feels like a scary place for a lot of people, people of color, DREAMers, women, the LGBTQ community,” he shared. Time then. “It is the youth of America, teenagers, who have the power to create change.”
