MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Cold air will continue to move into the region through Friday with the coldest temperatures so far this season.

TONIGHT

Temperatures will drop quickly overnight with all areas dropping into the 30s. Across the Pee Dee, temperatures will reach the lower 30s. A few isolated spots will drop to freezing. Across the beaches, temperatures will drop into the upper 30s. Despite the cold temperatures, a lingering breeze will prevent the formation of frost in most areas.

With a lingering breeze of 5 to 10 mph, chills will drop into the upper 20s to near 30.

FRIDAY

Friday will be a chilly day. Despite mostly sunny skies, temperatures will struggle to reach the lower to mid 50s in the afternoon. A blustery breeze will continue to add an extra chill to the air.

INTO THE WEEKEND

Over the weekend, temperatures will gradually begin to warm up a bit with readings reaching around 60 on Saturday and down into the mid-60s on Sunday.

Despite the milder days, calm winds will allow overnight temperatures to remain on the cool side. Friday night sees temperatures in the 30s inland to near 40 at the beaches. Some areas of patchy frost are likely across the Pee Dee.
