Many schools in Western Washington remained closed due to power outages

Many schools across the Puget Sound region are closed in the aftermath deadly “bomb cyclone” who felled trees and planted hundreds of thousands in the dark.

Entire Bellevue, Renton, Kent, Mercer Island and Issaquah school districts are closed Thursday due to ongoing power outages.

Other districts are keeping some schools closed but opening others.

In Seattle, Nathan Hale High School and Wedgwood Elementary remain without power and are closed Thursday.

In the Snohomish School District, the following schools will be closed Thursday: Cascade View Elementary, Central Emerson Elementary, Dutch Hill Elementary, ECEAP, Machias Elementary, Riverview Elementary, Centennial Middle School, Snohomish High School and Parkway Campus.

Auburn schools closed due to power issues include Rainier, Lake View, Willow Crest, Arthur Jacobsen, Virginia Cross Native American Education Center.

All Federal Way and Lake Stevens public schools are open and running on time.
