Former WTMJ-TV anchor Symone Woolridge joins KMSP-TV in Minneapolis

It didn’t take long.

Symone Woolridge, who left Milwaukee’s WTMJ-TV (Channel 4) Nov. 8, joins the Minneapolis Fox affiliate KMSP-TV in December, anchoring the station’s newscasts at 17.30 and 18.30.

KMSP announced the move Tuesday.

Before her departure from Channel 4, Woolridge had split her time between Milwaukee and Minneapolis, where her partner, Ahmad Hicks, is a reporter and sports presenteralso at KMSP. The couple has a 2-year-old son, who was born just days before she was to leave for the Milwaukee job in 2022.

On her facebook page, Woolridge, who co-anchored the Channel 4 morning newscast for the past two years, said she is not quite ready for the time adjustment.

“I’ve been working mornings for years now and let me tell you…it will be an adjustment when you’re at work after 2pm!” she wrote. “But I’m so excited to be able to sleep past 3am and I really hope you all can join us on the air! … Phew. What am I going to do with my morning time now?!”
