‘Shut Up’… Former UFC Heavyweight Slams Fans Over Jon Jones ‘Dumping’ Tom Aspinall

Jon Jones has shown little or no enthusiasm for a fight with Tom Aspinall and one heavyweight has praised him for the way he plays the game.

The MMA community is currently joined in unison in the hope that a match-up between the undisputed and interim champions is going to work out.

Brendan Schaub fires back at fans, saying Jon Jones ‘dolls’ Tom Aspinall

At UFC 309, Saturday night, Jon Jones defeated Stipe Miocic in Madison Square Garden, New York, USA, with a brutal spinning back kick.

But while ‘Bones’ was doing well, his Croatian-American opponent, at the age of 42, was far from his magnificent prime.

Unfortunately, most fans assumed this might have been the case, and so they wanted Tom Aspinall to face Jones instead.

But even with this fight out of the way, the reigning king of the division shows little enthusiasm for the big showdown.

As a result, the fans have become fuming. However, Brendan Schaub is on the 37-year-old’s side, telling those complaining to ‘shut up’.

In a video uploaded to his YouTube channelsaid the former challenger: “I can almost guarantee you we’ll never see another Jon Jones again – dominating like this. He’s got a leg up on the UFC.

“You should celebrate this; you should support this. If I’ve ever seen a resume for a fighter to demand a certain salary and actually get it, it’s Jon Jones.

“So pick a course. Either you want fighters to be compensated for what they’re worth, or you just want them to fight whoever the hell they (UFC) tell them to fight.

“You finally have a guy who has a foot in the UFC and can do it. He doesn’t need anyone or anything to be considered the greatest ever and all he asks is, ‘Pay me like I’m the greatest ever’.

“People say, ‘You’re dodging him, just come in with him, it’s the right thing to do,’ shut up!”

“If you’re going to cry about fighters not being compensated and not being taken care of, and when a guy finally does, you’re a**t on him, well, that doesn’t make sense, does it?

“It’s bloody stupid in the grand scheme of things, isn’t it? It’s kind of ridiculous when you say it out loud, isn’t it? It doesn’t make any damn sense, y’all.”

While Schaub is firmly in Jones’ corner, not everyone feels the same way about the situation.

Many are still furious with the legend’s stance on the Aspinall clash, including a former world title contender.

This MMA star is convinced that the heavyweight champion has damaged his reputation beyond repair.
