Morris County officials are investigating drones seen flying around the county

Morris County officials say they are investigating various reports of drones seen flying around the county Monday night.

Officials said various law enforcement officers out on patrol reported spotted drones flying in the sky.

They say they are aware of the situation and are investigating the incidents.

“There is no known threat to public safety,” officials wrote in a statement.

Officials also warned the public about social media rumors spreading online about the drones.

“We encourage the public to be aware that what they read online may not be accurate,” officials wrote.

Anyone with information about the incidents is urged to contact local police. Residents should not call 911 unless it is an emergency.
