Billie Eilish scores another top 10 hit with what could be her next global single

For several weeks, Billie Eilish’s song “Wildflower” has been growing in popularity. The tune has slowly worked its way onto at least one very important music chart as fans in the UK continue to turn to the catchy cut. Now that the track has become an unqualified success, will it finally get single status?

Eilish’s “Wildflower” reaches for the sun and rises to a new peak in the UK this week. The melody grows from no. 11 to no. 7 in the main ranking of the most consumed songs in the country. This frame marks the course’s first time in the top 10 of the competition.

“Wildflower” is Eilish’s fourteenth top 10 hit in the UK Incredibly, five of these songs have risen to the highest level on the chart in 2024 alone, as this year is proving to be huge for the singer-songwriter – not that the several years that preceded it lacked commercial success.

Four songs from Eilish’s third and latest album Hit me hard and soft has reached the top 10 in the UK charts. That’s a very large number for a 10-track project, especially considering that only two of them have been chosen as official singles.

Hit me hard and soft was led by “Lunch”, which was selected as a single on the day the album was released. No tunes were released prior to the full-length’s arrival, but that hasn’t stopped the studio effort from being immensely popular or enjoying longevity. “Frokost” peaked at no. 2 in the UK

Second single “Birds of a Feather” also stopped a step that would not add to Eilish’s list of No. 1 in the UK. That number falls to no. 13 in this frame, so “Wildflower” is now her current biggest win in one of the biggest music markets in the world, and yet it’s still not a single.

Like “Wildflower”, co-album “Chihiro” also spent time in the top 10 of the UK Most Viewed Singles Chart, although it was only fans’ love that propelled it, not promotional power. That number also peaked at no. 7, but unlike “Wildflower,” it doesn’t look like “Chihiro” will enjoy a second, independent life.

“Wildflower” could easily be chosen as the next track to receive a full promotional push from Hit me hard and softbased on how well it already works. Eilish could shoot a music video or maybe see how high it can climb on its own. This week, the tune also climbs the streaming chart (to No. 17), returning to both Official Single Downloads (No. 25) and Official Single Sales (No. 28).
