Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann could roll out major changes in relation to Hungary

Even with his squad looking like a man, former Bayern Munich boss and current German national team coach Julian Nagelsmann has a lot of respect for Hungary.

“They change their formation a lot in the game. In Düsseldorf (first game), Hungary applied more pressure, were not as disciplined at the back and played with more risk. It was different with the Euro. You cannot predict 100% what to expect. I’m more inclined to assume that they will be more compact tomorrow,” said Nagelsmann (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “Things don’t fall apart if we don’t win. I think all the players have understood that we won’t see each other countless times and that we won’t get many games. We don’t have that time, we have to use it. We want to deliver a good performance for the 1,000 fans who have traveled with us. It’s about continuing on the path we’ve chosen. We want to develop there There aren’t many games left World Cup. We don’t have much time to leave anything behind.”

Nagelsmann also indicated that he is likely to make a lot of changes to his starting XI.

“From today there will be many changes tomorrow. We also take the clubs into account. It is possible that we make nine, 10 or maybe just four changes. We will decide after the last practice, depending on how everyone feels,” said Nagelsmann.

Finally, the coach gave some insight into the squad’s goalkeeper situation.

“The pressures in the clubs are more important. I have a limited number of training sessions here that we can evaluate in the coaching staff. Olli (Baumann) did really well. He was also good with his feet. I hope for both of them (Baumann and Alexander Nübel) that the consistency of the league remains. At least I’m not worried. We will have a good #1 and #2 when Marc (Marc-André ter Stegen) comes back,” said Nagelsmann.
