Severe storms and heavy flooding rain threats overnight into Tuesday morning

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – A strong cold front is bringing severe weather and heavy rain overnight.

Some storms could be strong to severe with damaging winds and a low-end tornado threat.

The first round of storms will be after 10 p.m., with isolated storms that could become severe.

The main line of storms will move through early Tuesday morning, around 02.00 to 8. Some areas could see more than 5 inches of rain, with highest totals up to 8 inches.

Make sure you have multiple ways to receive weather alerts overnight and watch for flooding on Tuesday morning.

After the rain moves out late Tuesday morning, warm temperatures in the 80s will return.

The cold front moves through Tuesday overnight, dropping temperatures into the low 70s for highs Wednesday.

Another front moves through Wednesday night, bringing even colder temperatures in the low 60s Thursday and Friday.

Overnight lows will drop into the 40s, with 30s possible Saturday morning.
