Cowboys starter suffers major injury in first half vs. Texans

The 2024 season has not been without problems for the Dallas Cowboys. They look to end their four-game losing streak against the Houston Texans in Week 11.

They’re already without quarterback Dak Prescott for the rest of the season, but they also lost another starter on the offensive end early in the game against the Texans.

Per Todd Archer, tight end Jake Ferguson is out for the game with a concussion. The third-year tight end appeared to enter the concussion protocol sometime in the first quarter and was quickly ruled out.

Ferguson missed just one game this season due to a sprained MCL he suffered in Week 1. This season, he has logged 42 catches for 358 yards and 8.5 yards per carry. catch.

Before leaving the game, he had one reception for 11 yards.

The Cowboys are already without Prescott, so losing another starter isn’t ideal for the team. Head coach Mike McCarthy needs to add detail to his top playmakers to make things easier for quarterback Cooper Rush.

Now, with Ferguson out for the game, the pressure only increases on CeeDee Lamb and the rest of the playmakers around him. This is a game where McCarthy needs to get into his bags of tricks and make explosive plays.

When you lose quality starters on the team, the coach has to raise his game and mask the loss. That’s what Dallas will need to pull off this win and get back in the win column.
