Carrots sold at Costco, Walmart and more recalled

Various organic whole and baby carrot products are being recalled, according to the Food and Drug Administration. This is after one E.coli outbreak investigation linked to contaminated carrots, resulting in 39 illnesses, 15 hospitalizations and one death.

The recalled carrots were sold at popular retailers such as Costco, Kroger, Sprouts, Target, Trader Joe’s, Walmart, Wegmans, Whole Foods and more. They were sold nationwide in the United States as well as in Canada and Puerto Rico.

The following organic whole carrots, all of which were purchased from retailers between August 14 and October 23, are being recalled:

If you have any of the above carrot products in your refrigerator or freezer, dispose of it immediately or return it to your place of purchase for a full refund. E.coli bacteria can cause a serious infection, including symptoms such as stomach cramps, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and fever. If you think you may be sick after consuming the affected carrots, talk to your doctor as soon as possible.
