Ghana vs Niger (AFCON Qualifier)

The Black Stars of Ghana will face Niger in their final match of the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers at the Accra Sports Stadium on November 18, 2024.

The result of the game will not affect Ghana’s fortunes in the qualifiers as the country has already failed to reach the tournament.

However, Niger, third in the group with three points, can qualify for the tournament if they manage to win against the Black Stars and Sudan lose their last game to Angola.

Ghana have been dealt a heavy blow after key players such as Jordan Ayew, Gideon Mensah, Alidu Seidu and Fatawu Issahaku pulled out of the squad due to injury following the team’s 1-1 draw against Angola.

Ghana now find themselves at the bottom of Group F with just 3 points from 5 games, including two defeats and three draws.

Angola, who have already secured qualification, lead the group with 13 points, while Sudan and Niger follow with 7 and 4 points respectively.

It is the first time in 21 years that the Black Stars have failed to qualify for the prestigious tournament.
