Cincinnati Bengals defender DJ Turner suffered a shoulder injury and was sidelined after breaking up a long pass Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert during the third quarter of the NFL Week 11 game on Sunday Night Football at SoFi Stadium.

“This guy can fly,” NBC color analyst Cris Collinsworth said during the broadcast. “They can’t – you just hope he’s okay.”

Play-by-play announcer Mike Tirico said Turner hurt his shoulder and went straight to the locker room. The Bengals announced that Turner was doubtful to return with a right shoulder injury. A short time later the team arrived downgraded Turner out with a collarbone injury.

Cam Taylor-Britt, who sat on the bench in the first half, replaced Turner.

Turner is in his second NFL season with the Bengals. He was a second-round pick in the 2023 NFL draft.

Turner played in all 17 of the Bengals’ games last season.
