Mavericks vs Thunder Preview, start time, TV schedule and injury report

The Dallas Mavericks (6-7) head north to face the Western Conference number one seed Oklahoma City Thunder (11-2). The Mavericks played less than 24 hours ago and beat the San Antonio Spurs. The Thunder are riding a three-game winning streak despite a growing list of injuries to key players. It seems like a bit of a weird game, so let’s get straight to the main points:

  • WHO: Dallas Mavericks at Oklahoma City Thunder
  • WHAT: Showdown against the number one team in the West
  • WHERE: American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas
  • WHEN: 6:00 pm CST
  • HOW: Kanal 29, MavsTV and also Playback with Kirk, Matthew and David

The injury report headlines with Luka Doncic missing the game for Dallas. He has been ruled out with a right knee contusion, although it is unclear if this is the injury the media has alluded to in his questions over the past several games. Dante Exum also remains out. The rest of the Mavericks have a clean bill of health.

The Thunder have a long injury report. Alex Caruso is out with a hip strain. Isaiah Hartenstein is out with a broken left hand. Chet Holmgren took a nasty fall and broke part of his hip. Nikola Topic is out with knee surgery. Jaylin Williams strained his hamstring. Oklahoma City will not play anyone listed taller than 6’6″!

This is a strange game. A win would be important for the psyche of Dallas, but the Thunder have so many quality bodies that it would be hard to take much away from that. A loss would be upsetting, but without Doncic, it’s hard to gauge this team as it’s built around him. There’s a longer preview here if you missed it!
