Pittsburgh Steelers unveil Justin Fields package at Ravens game

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers have talked a big game about including a Justin Fields package in their game plan at some point, and the team finally unveiled part of their package Sunday against the Ravens.

On a 2nd and 11, Fields entered the game and the Steelers ran quarterback power and tried to get something going. Fields picked up eight yards and then punted on the next play. While that’s only part of the package, it’s not surprising that the Steelers would have a package to use in this game, especially with the offense sputtering.

Earlier this week, offensive coordinator Arthur Smith talked about the package and their belief that it would be ready when the team needed it.

“It will be ready to go when we need it. Maybe it will be this Sunday, maybe it will be next Sunday. I’m very confident that when we break out, it will make a difference,” Smith said.

The Steelers might have implemented it earlier, but a hamstring problem popped up for Fields before the bye week, removing any chance of doing so. Still, now healthy, Fields’ package is back in action and could be something the Steelers turn to at times.
