For the UFC’s highly anticipated return to Madison Square Garden, there is no better fight fans could have asked for than Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic. GOD of the UFC and New York native Jon Jones has fought just twice in the past five years, winning a light heavyweight title fight against Dominick Reyes in 2020 and coming off a long absence to capture the heavyweight title from Ciryl Gane at UFC 285 in 2023 with a dramatic guillotine choke finish in the first round.

This time, Jones (27-1-1) defends the title against the legendary former two-time champion, Stipe Miocic (20-4). Miocic is widely regarded as the greatest UFC Heavyweight of all time, with four title defenses. With both fighters hinting that this could be their last fight, it’s an absolute must-watch for UFC fans worldwide.

Jones’ time outside the ring has been eventful, appearing in an Albuquerque court earlier this year to fight charges after he was accused of becoming hostile during a drug test at his New Mexico home. Jones pleaded not guilty and completed the required four hours of anger management over the incident.

In the co-main event, Michael Chandler (23-8) will face former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira (34-10) in an exciting five-round rematch. Their first meeting at UFC 262 saw Oliveira pick up the victory by TKO, securing the vacant championship. This time, Chandler is back with a rematch aimed at settling the score and regaining his place among the lightweight elite. Chandler waited more than a year to fight Conor McGregor, but the fight was postponed several times and Dana White has now said that it is no longer the planned fight for McGregor’s return.
