Here’s the Bye-Week Watch Guide every Ole Miss fan needs

Your Ole Miss Rebels have this weekend off as the team prepares for the final two games against Florida and Mississippi State. Each of the next two games are crucial games as the Rebs can’t drop another game and stay in the playoff hunt.

So what games are going on this weekend that Ole Miss fans should be aware of?

Let’s start within the SEC.

First up at 11 CT, No. 3 Texas Longhorns travel to Fayetteville to take on the Arkansas Razorbacks. Arkansas already has a massive home win against No. 7 Tennessee this year, and the only time Texas has played an actual team in a game, they lost to Georgia. The Razorbacks could ruin the Longhorns’ season because a loss here would surely put them behind the Bulldogs and thus Ole Miss in the standings.

2:30 p.m. CT, LSU will look to the right of his ship as they go to Swap. The Tigers still have a path to the SEC Championship game, which is its only path to the College Football Playoffs. Worryingly too, the road isn’t too insane – win out and every favorite wins the last three weeks, that’s it. Florida QB DJ Lagway could be back, which is potentially huge. See what a baffling QB just did to the Tigers last night in Death Valley. Ole Miss doesn’t need any automatic qualifiers to get into the mix, so a Gator win is a win for the Rebs.

Shortly after that kickoff, No. 21 South Carolina hosts No. 23 Missouri. The Gamecocks are on a roll and it’s an incredible development for the Rebs. The only game in which South Carolina was not competitive was their home loss to the Rebels. Each win going forward is a boost to the Ole Miss resume. South Carolina by a thousand.

Then there are night games in Athens (how is that?). No. 12 Georgia will host No. 7 Tennessee Volunteers. This game will have huge implications for the playoffs. A loss at Georgia ends their season for good, and Tennessee is likely headed for the SEC Championship. A win in Georgia muddies things up a bit. Will they jump Ole Miss despite going head to head? Does Tennessee fall out of the top 12? I think it’s in our best interest to root for Tennessee here.

Other games around the country to watch for:

Virginia travels to South Bend at 02.30 and looking to get upset. Getting an overrated No. 8 Notre Dame out of the playoff picture would all but solidify the Rebels spot in the final rankings.

Kansas vs. No. 7 BYU is interesting because some are calling for the Jayhawks to upset the Cougars. The Big12 is likely a one-bid league, but a nightmare scenario with a highly ranked BYU losing a close championship game to Colorado with a win over ACC champion SMU on the road.
